Sugar Kings Rebuff Knights, 4-2
|
The Havana Sugar Kings and Brooklyn Knights played an exciting game.
The Havana Sugar Kings handed the Brooklyn Knights a 4-2 defeat at Brooklyn Coliseum. Third Baseman Kevin Mars starred for Havana. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Eric McKinney earned the win to go to 7-5. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. John Charles finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
With Havana leading 3-2 in the top of the seventh, Mars hit a run-scoring single off Brooklyn hurler Eric White. It was the 74th hit of the season for Mars and put his team ahead, 4-2.
Said losing manager Enoch Tang: "Give the Sugar Kings credit. They played a better game than we did."
