Sudbury parlayed a decent outing from starter Matt Wesberry into a solid win over the East Haddam Hyenas. The final score was 4-3. Sudbury reliever Justin Roeber picked up the win to move to 2-0. Ricky Pinto suffered the loss. With the loss, East Haddam falls to 13-15.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, two-time All-Star Albert Bencomo had a chance to be the hero. East Haddam pitcher Ricky Pinto wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Bencomo hit a sacrifice fly. The Blueberry Bulldogs had themselves a thrilling win.

"Matt's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Sudbury manager Coach John.
