Knights Win, 7-4, Versus Havana
|
The Brooklyn Knights defeated the Havana Sugar Kings, 7-4, at Brooklyn Coliseum. Brooklyn left fielder Kenichi Kanzaki had a superb performance. He went 3-7 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Tanner Denny claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 2-1. With the loss, Havana drops to 14-12.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 14th. With two out, Kanzaki hit a splitter from Eric McKinney for a 3-run home run. The Knights, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Kanzaki.
