O'Donnell Swats Record-Breaking Home Run Wednesday, January 8th , 2053 Baseball has a new all-time great slugger. Justin O'Donnell walloped home run number 19 today at Managua Stadium to snap the record for a season, previous set by the immortal Danny Seeling. After the game he told reporters, "My dreams started on a small playground near my home where I first learned to hold a bat. Pretending to be one of my great heroes I broke many home run records at that playground and in my backyard. I won a lot of championship series in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, too. And today one of those dreams really came true for real." Justin O'Donnell walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Larry Powers in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th and homered off Fernando Luna in the 6th. This year, O'Donnell is hitting .316 with 19 home runs and 61 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .481 clip and scored 43 runs. |
