J-Hawks Move on to World Series

CBD Single A fans were certainly not disappointed with this Sub League 2 League Championship Series.
The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Jefferson J-Hawks prevailing over the Calgary Winter to advance to the World Series.
Jefferson won the final game by a score of 5-3 at Jefferson Park and that sealed the series 4-3.
"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said right fielder Marcus McNutt, who earned MVP honors.
For the series, McNutt hit .385 with a .452 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Jefferson J-Hawks will play against the Spokane Bulldogs in the next round. Spokane won their series against the Kansas City Hepcats 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
