League Gives Wiebe and Sicurella 2-Game Suspensions Friday, August 25th , 2051 There was a heated confrontation yesterday at Mavericks Field between the Mavericks and Imperials that resulted in ejections and suspensions. Noah Wiebe of Portland and Steve Sicurella of Cloverleaf were issued 2-game suspensions by the league office for initiating the on-field disturbance. So far this season, Wiebe is hitting .261 with 9 home runs, 44 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 97 hits in 371 at-bats and a .321 OBP. This year, Sicurella is 0-and-1 with 1 save and a 6.23 ERA. He has given up 79 hits in 65 innings with 61 strikeouts. |
