Garcia Selected SL1's Best Player
Wednesday, August 10th , 2050
At the age of 23, Roberto Garcia of the Mexico City Mole could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2050 was good enough to win the right fielder the Sub League 1 Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .371 batting average this year, as well as a .460 on-base percentage. He played 69 games and racked up 95 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 26 home runs, 62 RBIs and 56 runs scored.
He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jamie Stratman of the Cloverleaf Imperials finished second in voting, while Casey Williams of the Mexico City Mole finished third.
