Jefferson's Mendoza Snags Pitcher of the Year Award Tuesday, August 9th , 2050 Freddy Mendoza of the J-Hawks humbled hitters all season long and today celebrated as he hauled in the Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Year trophy, the coveted Pitcher of the Year Award.
The Jefferson hurler held opposing hitters to a .221 batting average while putting up a 11-2 record and a 2.45 earned run average. He started 16 games, pitched 117.1 innings and struck out 108.
He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 16. Andy Rayo of the Tacoma Oilmen finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Brian Chavez of the Tacoma Oilmen finished third.
