The Portland second baseman easily handled the Bulldogs pitching, going 5-for-9, but his Portland Mavericks came out on the short end of the 6-5 score. Saavedra told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Victor Saavedra doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, flied out in the 12th, singled in the 14th, singled in the 16th, struck out in the 19th and struck out in the 21st.
