Piccirillo Hits for Cycle Against Wichita Saturday, June 25th , 2050 Getting 5 hits in a game is no easy feat, but doing it to hit for the cycle is even more rare. Bobby Piccirillo of the Spokane Bulldogs pulled it off at Wichita Grounds, going 5-for-5 against the Wichita Falcons. His batting escapades sparked the Bulldogs to a win, 6-0. Piccirillo tallied 2 runs and drove in 3 during the game. Hitting for the cycle is particularly rare because of the different skills required - enough power for a home run, enough speed for a triple and enough patience at the plate to see at least four hittable balls. "It just happened," Piccirillo said to reporters after the win. "Must have been fate or something, I wasn't expecting it. Heck, I wasn't even really trying for it." Bobby Piccirillo hit a solo-shot off Raul Jaime in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Raul Jaime in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
