Eskins Swats 3 HR Against Tacoma
Sunday, May 14th , 2051
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Tacoma Oilmen.
Georgetown center fielder Luke Eskins tripled up on the home runs to propel the Spinners to a win, 12-8, at Spinners Grove.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Tacoma manager Bill Shearin said. "Eskins hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Eskins collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Luke Eskins hit a three-run home run off Alex Sosa in the 1st, grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Craig Beck in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Rich Rubio in the 7th.
