Ard Bags SL1 Best Player Award Monday, May 12th , 2053 Portland fans have something to crow about today as Portland shortstop Danny Ard nabbed the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Ard. He posted a .500 average (11-for-22) this past week with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. Thus far this season, Ard is hitting .326 with 6 home runs, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 31 hits in 95 at-bats and has played in 22 games. |
