Hare Bashes 5 Base Hits
Thursday, May 1st , 2053
Jefferson center fielder Mike Hare had a big day at Jefferson Park against the Tacoma Oilmen. The 24-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 21-8 J-Hawks triumph over Tacoma.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Hare said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Mike Hare hit an RBI double in the 1st, flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season, Hare has hit .405 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and scored 9 times.
