Herrera Slaps 5 Hits
Saturday, April 29th , 2051
The Calgary Winter stopped the Louisville Prairie Thunder by a score of 7-6 at Prairie Thunder Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder David Herrera. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Herrera said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Herrera did just that in his 7 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Prairie Thunder.
"Not much that I can say," offered Louisville manager Malik Stovall. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
David Herrera singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jake Kreder in the 9th, doubled in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Eddie Baros in the 12th.
For the year, Herrera is batting .345 with 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
