Salas Swings for the Cycle Tuesday, April 15th , 2053 Justin Salas accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball when he hit for the cycle against the Laredo Diamonds in the 7-6 Medford Axemen win at Axemen Grove. Afterward, Salas acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Axemen win. "Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Salas said. On his historic day, he went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books. Justin Salas grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Will Harig in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and tripled in the 9th. View Boxscore |
