Russell Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games
Monday, May 2nd , 2050
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Tyler Russell did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Spinners Grove. For the last 20 games in a row, the 21-year-old center fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Georgetown Spinners beat the Medford Axemen, 10-6.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Russell told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Georgetown clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Tyler Russell struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
Russell is currently batting .340 with 7 home runs and 14 RBIs.
