Gomez Crushes 3 HR Against Tacoma Monday, May 2nd , 2050 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Oilmen Field were taking cover all day long as Jose Gomez zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Louisville center fielder helped the Prairie Thunder take the victory, 17-6, over the Tacoma Oilmen. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 5 runs. Jose Gomez hit a two-run home run off Andy Rayo in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Andy Rayo in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Alexis Piques in the 9th.
