Sultan of Swing: Johnson Goes Deep 3 Times
Saturday, August 17th , 2052
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Mike Johnson did at Imperials Grove, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 7-6.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Johnson said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The Reno Rattlers shortstop blistered the Cloverleaf Imperials for 4 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Cloverleaf manager Jim Flores said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Mike Johnson hit a solo-shot off Troy Mulholland in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Troy Mulholland in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Tim Colalillo in the 7th.
Currently Johnson is hitting .248 and has collected 15 home runs, 32 RBIs and scored 22 times, while playing in 27 games.
