Billy Bottorff discovered that today at Axemen Grove, as he smashed three home runs during the 26-2 Laredo Diamonds win over the Medford Axemen. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Laredo right fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Bottorff, who is tied for 7th in the SL2 in triples with 3, finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Billy Bottorff hit a solo-shot off Steven Mulhall in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Aguilar in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Alex Tomba in the 6th. This year, Bottorff has hit 11 home runs and posted a .341 batting average. |
