Salazar Rips Long Beach for 5 Hits Friday, July 12th , 2052 Even as a kid, Chris Salazar said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Paradise Ballpark, Salazar showed how well he learned that lesson. The 21-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 7 at-bats for the Oklahoma City Hooks, helping his team knock off the Long Beach Paradise by a score of 14-6. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
