No Late-Season Magic Coming: Long Island Out of Playoffs Tuesday, September 5th , 2051 Long Island baseball fans are feeling forlorn today, as the Long Island Ducks have missed out on the playoffs. The team was in the mix late in the season, but ultimately fell short. They were officially eliminated from contention today. Before this season, the Ducks had made the playoffs 5 times in a row. In the 33 years they have been a CBD Rookie League franchise, they have made the playoffs 25 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Ducks have missed the playoffs 2 times.
