Galveston Bats Silenced by Zacarias Friday, June 14th , 2052 In an excellent mound performance, Carlos Zacarias of the Long Beach Paradise blanked the Galveston Gumdrops, 14-0, on a 4-hitter. "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game. In all, the Long Beach hurler rang up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win. "We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Gumdrops manager Jonathan Bonner. "Zacarias did a good job keeping us guessing." This year, Zacarias has compiled a 5-1 mark with a 2.77 ERA.
