Long Beach Stops Walling Hit Streak Wednesday, May 29th , 2052 Pueto Rico Ranas left fielder Matt Walling and his hot bat finally met their match at Ranas Ballpark. The Long Beach Paradise snapped his 21-game hitting string, holding Walling hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipping Pueto Rico, 9-0, for good measure. "We're real pleased with this one," Paradise manager Jeremy Bonhomme said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering Pueto Rico makes it even sweeter." For the year, Walling has hit .393 with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 35 runs. |
