Hitting Streak Still Alive for Johnson Sunday, August 15th , 2049 Chalk up another one for Galveston Gumdrops shortstop Justin Johnson. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Johnson went 2-for-3 in today's game at Sea Eagles Ballpark but saw his club defeated, 7-0, by the host Sapporo Sea Eagles. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Gumdrops manager Jonathan Bonner said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Justin Johnson flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd and singled in the 6th. At the moment, Johnson is batting .300 with no home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 80 games and scored 42 times. |
