Paradise Lose Gibbs for Season
Thursday, July 29th , 2049
The doctors have spoken and Justin Gibbs of the Long Beach Paradise didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Gibbs sustained his season-ending injury during the Sapporo Sea Eagles game yesterday at Paradise Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Long Beach medical staff reported Gibbs had bone chips in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
In 19 starts this year, Gibbs has posted 2 wins while suffering 6 losses. He has pitched 77.1 innings, allowed 98 hits, struck out 46 and has a 3.49 ERA.
