Cole 5-for-6 Against Better Mades
Monday, July 17th , 2051
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Jon Cole of the Sheboygan Bratwurst had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 17-7 win over the Grosse Pointe Better Mades at Grosse Pointe Grounds.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 24-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Jon Cole hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bob Slack in the 9th.
This year, Cole has hit at a .408 clip with 95 hits, 6 home runs, 51 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
