Saturday, September 28th , 2047
Even as he reached the pinnacle of baseball achievement, Harry Guerin never broke a sweat.
The 19-year-old right-hander pitched a perfect game at Sharks Ballpark for the Baltimore Sharks, retiring 27 in a row.
"I still don't believe it," Harry Guerin told reporters inside the Sharks locker room, following the win. "Throwing a perfect game just doesn't seem real."
Guerin was a picture of calm on the mound as he struck out 7 Cork hitters and walked none as the Sharks took the 2-0 victory.
"I had the best control of my life today and it felt almost effortless," Guerin said with a smile. "I never knew throwing a perfect game would be so easy."
Checking out his stats for the year, Guerin has racked up 3 wins and 5 losses in 15 starts, posted a 1.67 ERA, and struck out 67 batters in 75.2 innings.
