Wesley Hitless, Streak Ends at 23 Thursday, July 30th , 2048 Corpus Christi center fielder Jimmy Wesley experienced something against the Nogales Nómadas del Sol he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Nómadas del Sol pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 23 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Beach Boys to a 5-1 victory at Nogales Grounds. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 23-game hitting streak," Wesley joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." Looking at his season stats, Wesley has compiled a .435 batting average and a .523 on-base percentage, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 48 runs. |
