Hits Galore: Checketts Drills 6 Hits Wednesday, April 24th , 2052 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 6 hits in a day. Jeff Checketts is one of those rare few, as he went 6-for-6 against the Cork Claws at Hooks Ballpark. The monster effort from the 18-year-old right fielder helped the Oklahoma City Hooks get the win, 12-11. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Claws manager John Williams. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Jeff Checketts singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. View Boxscore |
