Rich Simmons Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Sunday, July 12th , 2048 Oklahoma City starting pitcher Rich Simmons could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn labrum. He exited yesterday's Corpus Christi game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Simmons would be out 5-6 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." This season, Simmons has a 4-3 record with a 3.91 ERA in 15 starts. |
