Beach Boys End Hunt Streak Wednesday, July 8th , 2048 It was the best of both worlds for the Corpus Christi Beach Boys at Beach Boys Ballpark, as they defeated the Can Tho Cobras, 6-5, and also snapped Rory Hunt's 26-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old Can Tho left fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Hunt, we just wanted to win the game," said Beach Boys skipper Kirk Brixey. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Hunt frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." For the year, Hunt is hitting .455 with 7 home runs. His stats include 69 runs batted in and 67 runs scored. |
