Buffalo Snaps Vasques Streak at 21 Saturday, August 31st , 2047 The streak has been snapped. Tony Vasques failed to get a hit in today's game against the Buffalo Red Sox, bringing his 21-game hitting spree to an end. The 20-year-old Corpus Christi center fielder was 0-for-4, but the Beach Boys got the win and defeated the Red Sox, 3-2. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Vasques said. "I got to 21 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" This year, Vasques is batting .340 with 8 home runs. He has scored 33 runs and driven in 30. |
