Sapporo Stops Gallegos Hit Streak Wednesday, June 16th , 2049 The Rhome Rhavioli lost to the Sapporo Sea Eagles, 8-1, at Sea Eagles Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Cesar Gallegos's 23-game hitting streak. The right fielder went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Gallegos, we would win the game," Sea Eagles manager Jonathan Lawson explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Batting .351 to date, Gallegos has 3 home runs and 18 RBIs. |
