van Emmerik Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, May 29th , 2049 Nicolas van Emmerik has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Cork left fielder picked up 2 more today against the Grosse Pointe Better Mades and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Claws won the game, 6-3. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Nicolas van Emmerik hit a three-run home run off Jordan Gonzalez in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, walked in a run in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. So far this season, van Emmerik has recorded a .545 batting average with 24 hits, 2 home runs, 14 RBIs, 15 runs scored and a .643 OBP. |
