Jacksonville Halts Dawson's Hitting Steak Sunday, May 25th , 2053 The Jacksonville Alligators brought Harry Dawson's hitting spree to a screeching halt in its 8-4 victory over the Euharlee Hammerheads at Euharlee Fields. The Jacksonville mound staff snapped the 20-year-old center fielder's hitting streak at 23 games, as Dawson failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "The only reason I cared about the streak was because it meant I was contributing every day," Dawson said later. "I didn't contribute today, and look what happened." So far this season, Dawson has recorded a .408 batting average with 40 hits, 3 home runs, 16 RBIs, 21 runs scored and a .473 OBP. |
