Blanks Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Wednesday, May 10th , 2051 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Travis Blanks, it came around today. The 19-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Gumdrops Grounds to pace the 16-3 Rhome Rhavioli victory over the Galveston Gumdrops. Galveston skipper Jonathan Bonner told reporters in the press room that "Blanks deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Blanks hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Travis Blanks singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
