Sierra 5-for-5 for Jacksonville Tuesday, May 13th , 2053 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jesus Sierra -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Alligators Stadium, but the performance lost a little luster when the Alligators were downed, 12-4, by the Grosse Pointe Better Mades. After his glittering performance, the Jacksonville first baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Sierra said. Jesus Sierra singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Sierra is hitting .414 this year with 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .536, 20 walks and scored 18 times. View Boxscore |
