Gruber Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Galveston Sunday, May 11th , 2053 Lady Luck was not on the side of Adam Gruber or his teammates at Gumdrops Grounds. Everything went the way of the Galveston Gumdrops, who not only came away with the 4-3 victory over Oklahoma City, but also held Gruber hitless in 2 at-bats to put an end to his 21-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Gruber said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." This year, Gruber has batted at a .530 pace with 35 hits, 5 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 23 times. |
