Claws on to Round 2 Tuesday, September 10th , 2041 The Cork Claws "bent but didn't break" against the Buffalo Red Sox in the Round 1. That's according to Jason Sage of Cork, who was named series MVP. "Our guys faced adversity and overcame it. This series wasn't easy, but we stuck to our game and made it work," he said. Cork won the final game by a 7-1 count and the series 4-1. Sage's MVP performance included hitting .421 with a .450 on-base percentage. He also had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Cork Claws will play against the Augusta Linksmen in the next round. Augusta won their series against the Melbourne Aces 4 games to 0.
