Hoey Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Wednesday, May 11th , 2050 Ben Hoey of the Galveston Gumdrops tagged 1 hit in today's 15-1 loss to the Colorado Springs Generals at Ballpark of Colorado Springs to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Ben Hoey struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Victor Gomez in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This season, Hoey is swinging the bat at a .400 rate with 26 hits in 65 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 15 runs and driven in 15. |
