In the Long Beach's 19-0 win over Sheboygan, shortstop Carlos Ortiz was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Paradise Ballpark. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Ortiz said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Carlos Ortiz singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
