Elbaum Slams 5 Hits for Sapporo Saturday, September 21st , 2052 It was a high-five day for Steve Elbaum, at least for a while. The Sapporo left fielder got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Pueto Rico Ranas, but they were in short supply at the end, as Pueto Rico won the game, 8-6. Elbaum finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Sea Eagles couldn't hold off the Ranas. "Steve was hitting everything," said Sea Eagles manager Steve Thuringer. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Steve Elbaum hit a three-run home run off Bryan Regan in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
