Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Walling Monday, August 26th , 2052 Pueto Rico lost to the Galveston Gumdrops, 6-4, at Ranas Ballpark, but Matt Walling kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 2 hits. The Ranas left fielder has now delivered hits in 25 straight games. "Matt has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Pueto Rico manager Monte Benevidez told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Matt Walling flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. To date Walling has chalked up a .450 average with 6 home runs, driven in 46 runs and scored 65 times. |
