Grosse Pointe Stops Brown Hit Streak Wednesday, August 14th , 2052 The Oklahoma City Hooks lost to the Grosse Pointe Better Mades, 5-3, at Hooks Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Tony Brown's 20-game hitting streak. The third baseman went 0-for-5 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Brown, we would win the game," Better Mades manager Ubaldo Riba explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This year, Brown is hitting .327 with 34 hits, 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and has scored 25 runs. |
