Rhavioli End Burley Streak Monday, August 5th , 2052 It was the best of both worlds for the Rhome Rhavioli at Banner Island Ballpark, as they defeated the Can Tho Cobras, 16-0, and also snapped Greg Burley's 23-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old Can Tho shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Burley, we just wanted to win the game," said Rhavioli skipper Tom Scherger. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Burley frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." For the season, Burley is hitting .485, batted in 24 runs with 4 home runs and 14 runs scored. |
