Mendez Slaps 5 Hits Sunday, July 28th , 2052 Carlos Mendez of the Sea Eagles was unstoppable in his team's 21-10 victory over the Long Island Ducks at Ducks Ballpark. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Sapporo first baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Carlos Mendez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 6th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
