Flagstaff Takes Round 1 Sunday, September 17th , 2051 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Flagstaff Skyhawks have edged the Schenectady Grasshoppers. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Round 1, with a 4-3 win in the clincher being the difference for Flagstaff and giving them the ticket to the Round 2 with a 4-3 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Manny Ponce, who was named series MVP. For the series, Ponce hit .444 with a .516 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Flagstaff Skyhawks don't know who they will face in the next round.
