Richards Clobbers 3 HR Against Chews Wednesday, September 1st , 2049 Da Nang Dolphins center fielder Phil Richards put on a dazzling display of power at Da Nang Field against the Charleston Chews. In the 13-3 Dolphins victory, Richards penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Charleston manager Chris Scott said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 29-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Richards said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Phil Richards walked in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jesus Trevino in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Frank Ortiz in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Frank Ortiz in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
