Houston's Cruz Snaps Up August Batting Award Wednesday, September 1st , 2049 Tony Cruz is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Houston right fielder joined that select company when the CBD Single A announced the results of August's voting. Cruz totaled 36 hits, 9 walks, 8 home runs, 28 RBIs and 22 runs scored last month to put together a .350 batting average and .422 on-base percentage. This year, Cruz has collected a .304 batting average to date with 144 hits in 473 at-bats, 74 RBIs, 17 home runs and scored 68 times. He has played in 122 games. |
