Schenectady Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Saturday, September 17th , 2050 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Schenectady Grasshoppers have edged the Qubec City Poutine. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Round 1, with a 11-5 win in the clincher being the difference for Schenectady and giving them the ticket to the Round 2 with a 4-3 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Marat Kapula, who was named series MVP. For the series, Kapula hit .480 with a .519 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Schenectady Grasshoppers will play against the Houston Orange Kings in the next round. Houston won their series against the Baxter Dingos 4 games to 1.
